Purpose: Enforce the "Declaration of Covenants and
Restrictions of Parkwood IX" and the "By-Laws of Parkwood IX
Homeowners Association, Inc."
Guidelines
Architectural modifications
and improvements to the exterior of your home or your property
require prior approval from the Association per Parkwood IX
Homeowners Association documents. This process is in place to help
maintain the attractiveness and value of our community and
homes.
Please be
aware that if an unapproved modification is identified that has been
completed or underway, it is still subject to review. You will
be asked to stop all activities on the improvement and to submit
plans for review (retroactively if the improvement is
completed). The Association may also physically review the
modification. If the plans or modifications are disapproved,
you will have to submit modified plans for review and then complete
or redo the improvements in accordance with the approved plans,
solely at your own cost.
Some examples of
modifications that require prior approval
are:

Painting of a house (base, trim, doors, etc. in
whole or individually) or driveway/walkway -even if the colors
used are the same as the existing
colors. |

Tiling or installing pavers on a driveway or
walkway. |

Construction of a swimming
pool. |
|
Installation of hurricane shutters. |
|
Installation of outside window treatments. |
|
Installation of fencing. |
If you
have any questions whether an improvement requires prior approval,
please feel free to call the Homeowners Association and we will
gladly let you know what the requirements are.
How to Submit a Request for an Architectural
Change
Requests for approvals may be mailed to the
Association. To facilitate the review process, duplicate sets of
plans, colors, specifications, etc., are required. The form to
request an Architectural Modification is available here in both
Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word format. The form in Microsoft Word
format is Parkwood IX HOA ARC
request. The same form in Adobe Acrobat format is
ParkwoodIXARC.pdf.
Color Approval
When requesting a color
approval for your house (base, trim, doors, etc., in whole or
individually), driveway, walkway or tiling or installation of pavers
on your driveway or walkway, please submit color samples with your
request. If you are submitting more than one choice of colors,
please indicate your first, second, or third preferences (if
applicable). A color palette of all approved color combinations is
available for your review by contacting the Board’s voice mail and
leaving a message.
Our documents allow for a 30-day review
period from submittal of plans. Our goal is to process requests in
an expeditious manner. Please factor this time in when scheduling
your projects.
